- ACE Inhibitors
- Angiotensin Converting Enzyme Inhibitors. These constitute a category of hypertension drugs which tend to prevent the natural angiotensin enzyme of the body from increasing blood pressure, so permitting blood to flow more easily and make the work of the heart easier or more efficient. They are, therefore, used for treating high blood pressure.
- Alpha blockers
- Class of hypertension drugs which operate by blocking the alpha1 adrenoreceptor, thus lowering blood pressure and heart rate.
- CAD (coronary artery disease)
- Condition in which deposits of fat or plaques build up in the cells lining the wall of a coronary artery, thus obstructing the flow of blood.
- Congenital
- Heart block
- The electrical pulses that cause the heart to beat are decelerated or blocked along the pathway between the upper and lower chambers. The condition usually call for a pacemaker.
- Congestive Heart Failure
- Condition in which the heart is unable to pump sufficient blood to meet the requirements of the other organs in the body.
- Hypertension
- Condition in which the patient has an abnormally high blood pressure. In normal adults the pressure is less than 130 mmHg systolic and less than 85 mmHg diastolic. Levels above 140/90 indicate a mild form of hypertension. Above 180/110 is considered severe.
- Ischemic heart disease
- Disorder caused by insufficient blood supply due to a constriction of coronary arteries.
- Pacemaker
- Electrical appliance that is used in order to induce heart contractions and control heartbeats.
